fitness manager responsibility 1.To constantly strive to ensure that the gymnasium is clean and tidy in all areas, e.g. under treadmills, appraisal room, reception desk etc., and to undertake minor duties required to maintain this standard. 2.Designing and promoting activities to meet customer demand and generate revenue; 3.advertising and promoting the club or centre to increase usage, which may include commissioning and considering market research; 4.Recruiting, training and supervising staff, including drawing up staff rotas; 5.Carrying out health and safety checks on equipment and plant; 6.Arranging for maintenance, insurance, repairs and cleaning; 7.Maintaining high levels of customer care, often with a particular focus on avoiding ‘attrition’ (loss) of existing users; 8.Prioritising target activities and user groups (especially in local authority centres); 9.Handling complaints and incidents (e.g., accidents and emergencies, theft); 10.Delivering some fitness training or coaching in sports activities - often a good way of maintaining contact with customers; 11.Preparing and checking budgets and generating income; 12.Cashing-up and keeping stock records; 13.Purchasing equipment and supplies; 14.Using advanced management information (e.g., footfall, popularity of classes by hour) to improve provision and timetables and cope with fluctuations in demand; 15.Writing monthly or weekly reports and preparing cash projections for centre owners or more senior management.
